Random Thoughts For Living In The District Saturday March 13, 2010

Well, my first week of living in The District, as the locals like to call it, has come to an end. It’s been a rather slow and quiet week, as I have been given a crash course in the American experience… With all the good and bad that comes with it. Needless to say, we only got hooked up with a steady stream of internet on Wednesday, so you’ll have to forgive me for not blogging for the past week.

It’s been great to finally see my wife and even better to finally put a place to the stories. DC is going to be a great two years and a fresh start. It’s sad to leave everyone in Calgary, but at 29 (24 of which in Calgary) this is going to be a nice little change. I honestly can’t wait to be back in DC in two weeks and to hit the ground running.

But in the mean time, I’ve got 5 days of geek madness in Austin to make it through. If you’re in Austin for SXSW, make sure you hit me up with an email or follow the cto_sxsw twitter account. As usual I’ll be blogging about everything going on here and professionally at the corporations blog.

Enjoy the ride kids and see you in 5 days.

First – Threadless knocks another T-Shirt out of the park, with this awesome Type T-Shirt

Second – More T-Shirts, but at least this one isn’t courtesy of Threadless…. For once.

You know you want to purchase it.

Third – Ah fahk it, let’s just make this a T-Shirt and Design Random Thoughts. Here’s another nice shirt from Threadless, albiet it’s a bit of the over done Joker variety.

God Save the Villain! - Threadless, Best T-shirts Ever

Fourth – I’m not sure when this happened, but all of a sudden I find anything IRONMAN related extremely cool. Sorta like these killer skins for your keyboard and mouse.

Fifth – I think we have to admit that Mad Men has officially jumped the shark… Barbie set to release a series of Mad Men Barbie Dolls (via. Laughingsquid)

Sixth – This comes from the Twitter world (and I can’t remember the source), but if you’re going to run for congress, we know that not many people watch Hockey in the States, but at least do a bit of research
