Random Thoughts For IronMan Friday October 12, 2007

Mikey’s rendition of IronMan looks absolutely stunning. Love how they incorporated old IronMan, the popular IronMan and possibly WarMachine.

Easily my most anticipated movie next year.

First – The first rule of career planning: Do not plan your career. (via signals vs. noise)

Trying to plan your career is an exercise in futility that will only serve to frustrate you, and to blind you to the really significant opportunities that life will throw your way.
Career planning = career limiting.
The sooner you come to grips with that, the better.

It’s always uplifting to stumble upon advice like that.

Second – My unhealthy man crush with Kanye West continues. Mother Fuckers got a blog. (thanks stereogum) It’s even got Champagne in it!

(P.S. To further enhance the unhealthy crush he even gives Feist a shout out. Could a collab be in the works? I don’t know, but I might lose my mind if that happens.)

Third – Sex Pistols reform for Guitar Hero Three.

Forth – Nice job Hiro, just start working on those ‘faux’ irish accents and well all be better people.

Fifth – I don’t know about you, but I don’t care which way she spins – I can’t stop ogling.

Sixth – The Canadian Red Cross Society on Virb gets an amazing redesign. If anything the redesign is so fantastic, just because it is soo stark, simple and beautiful.

Seventh – Al Gore shares in the Nobel Peace Prize.

Eighth – Tegan & Sara, Plain White T’s, The HoodInternet, Mandy Moore & The Dredean Dolls all love Umbrella … ella … ella … oh … oh.

NINTH – AH! Vinyl Zombies

(side note: if you want vinyl toys in Calgary go to nation at Art Central. )

Tenth – McDonald’s Minty-Mudbath Shake

You don’t know the special place McDonald’s shakes used to have in my life. Especially around St Patrick’s Day, when Dad’s alcoholic haze would lift just enough for him to pile us in the car for Shamrock Shakes. “Kids,” he would say, “Your mom hates you and it’s your fault she left, but there was ne’er a pain that a Shamrock Shake wouldn’t quiet.”

I think Iron Man kinda looks like the Power Rangers’ dad.

Just sayin’.

That said, I don’t know shit about superheroes. Normal heroes either, for that matter.
