Alright … So I sorta lied about not working on my birthday.

Alright … I really lied about not working on my birthday. After that torrential downpour I came home and powered through the night churning out two new web site redesigns. The first one is the new redesign for cookingwithfire.com.

I’ve been working on this project for the past few months and it was a fantastic learning experience. The goal of this project was to take the essence of the original cooking with fire site (pictured below) and update it for the web 2.0 era. This unfortunately meant incorporating not only a functional content management system, but streaming audio and an easy to use online market place that could handle both physical and electronic products. Needless to say it was somewhat of a challenge, but an exciting challenge none the less.

The Old Cooking With Fire Web Site

Anyways, we set a launch date of June 6th, because the site was to be featured on this week’s Happiness for Breakfast radio talk show. Which should be some great exposure for both companies and hopefully a sign of things to come.

If your curious what tools I used for this site, well then here you go. Most of the work was done with Adobe Photoshop, Your typical text editor (I use Dreamweaver just to save time), a hand full of CSS image replacement techniques, a Word Press Plugin, E-junkie for the online marketplace and then a whole lot of blood sweat and tears.
