Alright so with post it marks a TSN turning point in the web log. Because, Friday night was my first venture into the world of singledom and being a single guy at a nightclub again. And it took place at the cougar lair commonly referred to as the Metropolitan Grill.

Yeah, don’t worry your ass my friends, I wasn’t mauled by any cougars or leather faces. But I did get a first hand view at how strange the whole single dating scene thing is after University. See, I have friends who’ve dressed up as Christmas elves or fabricated matching bachelor party t-shirts (For a bachelor party that wasn’t happening) to sleep with girls, but the single guys at the Met. Jesus! I didn’t think dudes actually ever used those cheesy Maxim pick-up lines. I know competition to get laid by women at 30 and 32 is pretty fierce, but come on dudes. You don’t need to interrupt a conversation, just to drop a cheesey line about some Venezulian soccer fiend. I’m just really lucky I was surrounded by some co-workers (or former co-workers, or what ever it is I do) or I’d been one of those silver haired creeps lurking at the bar.

I’m also pleased to announce that after all these years the M-U-F-F telephone line is still a fail safe gimmick. Especially, when your buddy’s inebriated, but extremely rock solid girlfriend is screaming out the hidden spelling of my phone number from across 8th ave. (Rock on Bourdon!)

Alright, so it wasn’t a sloppy story as promised, but it was my first attempt in a few years. So we’ll see how things unfold in the future.

On a completely unrelated note, I really have to recommend the movie Blood Diamonds. Yes, it is very heavy handed with its political message about conflict diamonds, but it is still a stunning movie. Beautifully shot, beautifully acted, and just an overall moving experience. It’s an engrossing film, but not Friday Night Lights sort of way.

Where that little movie review came from I’m not quite sure.

I know where it came from. It made us all teary eyed.

Dude, that’s messed—I was also at the Met on Friday night for my company’s Xmas party.

The Met rules the school (and the pool).

Screwed up,

I was actually really impressed with the met. Some good times. And I’ll give the met the school (because of the high percentage of preying cougs) but not the pool.
